Nominate your outstanding English Language Learners and Teachers

Good morning,

The Arizona Department of Education is excited to share two opportunities for public district and charter schools to celebrate their English Learners, their teachers, and their collective success stories.

EL Teacher of the Year
In collaboration with a panel of distinguished peers, the Office of English Language Acquisition Services (OELAS) will select an exemplary Arizona English learner educator. OELAS invites you to nominate a teacher for this prestigious award. Nominees should meet the following criteria:

  • Appropriately Certified Teacher
  • Presently employed in an Arizona school (district or charter)
  • Currently teaching English Learners (ELs)
  • Three or more years of successful teaching experience with ELs

Use this form to nominate an outstanding EL educator by August 31, 2022

EL Student Success Stories
Additionally, ADE invites you to nominate a student who has made noteworthy accomplishments in English language acquisition and academic achievement as a recipient of this award.

If you know of an EL student who deserves this honor, please click here to complete and submit the online nomination form. Nominations are due by October 7, 2022.

The winner of the 2022 Arizona EL Teacher of the Year award will be honored along with the 2022 Arizona EL Student Success Stories winners at the 2022 OELAS Conference at JW Marriott Starr Pass in Tucson, Arizona.
