AZALAS Honors President Gisselle Herrera
Gisselle Herrera serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services in the Tolleson Elementary School District, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to educational leadership. With a deep focus on elementary school leadership, Ms. Herrera's passion for education is rooted in her belief that every child is capable of success, a belief forged through her own educational journey.
Ms. Herrera's dedication to educational leadership extends beyond her district as she has been an active member of the Arizona Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (AZALAS) Executive Board for several years. She also took on the role of chairing the 30th Anniversary AZALAS Annual Conference and currently serves as the President of the organization. She is a proud graduate of the National Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS) Superintendents Leadership Academy and contributes her expertise as a National Institute of School Leadership (NISL) facilitator.
In her role, Ms. Herrera collaborates with teams at the school, district, and state levels to design and implement educational programs that foster excellence among both students and teachers. Her academic background and extensive experience make her a valued leader in the field of education, dedicated to providing opportunities for all students and their families to achieve their dreams.
